My Eyes Hurt

I got back from vanuatu today. It was an awesome experience. Its an amazing place.
Most of the people that live there have just the basics, running water and electricity. They live in huts made of corrugated iron in the wealthier areas, but further out from Port Vila (the capital) there is no running water and there sure as hell is no electricity. But they are Happy.

You probably think I am being a patronising tourist but thats not true. I don't hold any twisted ideals about the virtue of poverty. They have a hard life. I know I would'nt t be able to live that life. But they don't let it get them down. I don't think it ever occurs to them that they have any thing to be down about. I wish I was like that. But then I wish a lot of things.
